bring on the cake

now this is my kind of card. cake! yum, and not just any cake but cupcakes! double yum :)
the stamps i ordered from two peas huge stamp sale arrived thursday, and i had so much fun breaking them out and getting to use them for the first time.

for this card i started with black cardstock, cut to a standard sized card. 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. the designer paper is from basic grey's indian summer collection. i used martha stewarts border punch to give the paper a scalloped edge, then adhered to the cardstock.

i used black ribbon and wrapped around the card. making two loops where the ribbon met.

then i took my paper piercer and punched through the ribbon and put two making memories pink rhinestone brads through the ribbon.

i keep a lot of my small embellishments (brads, snaps, small chipboard alphas, etc.) in my making memories organizer.

then i cut a strip of white cardstock, and stamped the hero arts sentiment with colorbox chalk ink in black and pink. i use color box cats eye chalk inks, the shape of the ink pad makes it easier to use multiple colors and get the ink on only the part of the stamp you want it on.

the felt sticker cupcakes are by k&company. i used fiskars corner rounder to round the edges of the card. i finished the card with a white gel pen adding faux stitching around the edge of the card.

thanks for looking!
blog ya later.
