easel card

i'd never even heard of an easel card until i saw a splitcoast stampers video about how to make one on youtube. but as soon as i saw it, i couldn't wait to try it.

i love the standing feature on the card, it adds so much interest. for my card i started with grey cardstock, and making memories designer paper. the flourish is from the gypsy wanderings cartridge. which is offered exclusively on the the cricut gypsy. i used martha stewarts butterfly punch to punch out the butterflies. i applied the butterflies with glue dots. to get the wings to pop up i took a glue dot, rolled it into a small ball and tucked under the wing, which gives it just enough dimension-super cute! the brown scalloped semi circle & photo corners, & sentiment sticker are from a 3 birds card making kit, that my mother in law purchased for me from QVC. (got to love QVC the kit is huge, and so much fun!)

for the sentiment i really wanted to use the sticker, but it needed to be popped up on foam adhesive so that it could hold the card open when in the standing position. so i just put the sticker on white cardstock and cut a small white boarder around the same shape as the sticker, and then i had a non-sticky background that i could apply dimensional adhesive to. worked out great!

thanks for looking, if you have any questions please leave them in the comments.
