we have a Winner!!!!

the winner of my first giveaway is . . .(drum roll please) . . . kathylee. her super cute blog is called my scrappy cupcake.

kathylee please email me at jyascrapblog@yahoo.com with your shipping address and i'll send you the thickers you've won!

ok, so today i suffered from major CREATIVITY BLOCK. i didn't like a single card i made. it was terrible, and frustrating. but i kept trying, and trying to come up with something good, because i don't often have a whole saturday to spend card-making and i didn't want to waste it.

so i tried thinking out the box (literally, by making a circle card). finally i came up with something that wasn't so bad. however because i'd rejected several cards before getting to this one, i don't have pictures of me making the card-sorry.

so here's what i did. i used a coluzzle circle cutter on yellow, white, and brown card stock. i cut the brown circle twice and then using scissors cut the slops of the hills, and used making memories distressing tool to distress the edges, and used a white get pen to make faux stitching lines. i used rangers distress ink in broken china to ink the white circle i cut (to make the sky), and cut the cloud free hand (surprised myself with how well that came out :)

have you ever seen Madagascar? i love that move (both 1 & 2). and the little lion & zebra stickers always make me think of alex the lion, and marty the zebra. the movies are hilarious, even if you don't have kids you should check them out.
the sentiment is a hero arts stamp, stamped on a strip of white cardstock, i used my rub on tool to curve the paper. tied white string through a purple button, and adhered with a glue dot. the little butterfly on the cloud is from martha stewarts 3 in 1 butterfly punch, with rhinestones added to the center.

i finished the card by tying ribbon around it the top, and adding more faux stitching around the edge of the yellow cardstock.

thanks for looking, and let's all Congratulate Kathylee!
blog ya later.
